The basic problem for collections of all kinds is object
deterioration caused by either internal forces or external influences.
Of the two, external influencers cause the greatest amount of damage.
Historical and archeological objects are particularly vulnerable
to environmental factors.
My work in conservation and restoration encompasses
oil paintings on canvas or wood, frescos, wood polychromatic sculputure
and sgraffito as well as gilded objects, both framed and sculpted.
I specialize in the ancient practice of water gilding, using real
gold leaf. Using museum-quality conservation and restoration techniques
for both art and antiques, I carefullly preserve the look of their
original patina without stripping or using corrosive chemicals that
could damage the original surface.
